THE BOOK OF LOST THINGS - Second meeting

The second session was on 20th April.

In this session we talked about the second part of the book, that means from page 250 to the end of the book.

It was a very special session because apart from talking about the characters and what our impression was on the book, we discussed some topics related to real life that we discovered while reading the book.  These are the topics we talked about: selfishness in childhood, the loss of a loved relative and how society influences on our life.

We think John Connolly is very much writing to the child that still exists in all of us. David must develop character and maturity if he is to survive and find his way home. As he does, he realizes that he has been selfish and mean back in his own world. It is like the old saying: 'you don't know what you have till it's gone'.
